I tried black once and it made me look awful. My hair is this picture is actually a combination of black and auburn and looked hideous up close because I was waiting for the black ends to grow out

If you don't want to go as dark as black then you should try a deep chocolate brown.

It is dark but not as stark. My hair is a very light brown and I dyed it chocolate brown last winter and it turned out great. It wasn't as intense as when I tried black but I still got the dramatic effect against my fair skin.

Honestly ......get a good friend one who is honest with you and would not let you leave your house looking bad and try on wigs! Thats the easiest way to find out what looks good on you and make sure you like it too.......You are pretty pale so I would look to the light to medium browns.....

I would go to a hairdresser, and get his/her professional opinion. They are trained to know what colors work with what complexions. They can also show you different swatches of color, and together you can find one that you would look good on you.

I really like it a lot, but if you want something different then I would go with a medium dark chocolate brown with reddish-brown tones. What you have now is really hot though.
