there is a website that i absolutely love called video jug. Here you watch short films on how to achieve something. There is a video on their for formal/ball make-up in the beauty section. Try it, its around a 10 minute video but very good. As far as pictures with hair up and curled, you could check your local hair salon and ask to borrow one of their books to research a hair style, there are also many magazines. But ask her how she would prefer her hair, maybe she would want it curly with half of it tied back, i know that this is a very popular with many girls.
