Blond Highlights on Red Hair (male)?

I have natural deep red / auburn hair which I normally keep short to medium length but would quite like a change. I was thinking of blond highlights or lo-lights but can't find any advice pages specifically for men or pictures with someone with that style. Anyone know any actors/pictures etc. with red hair and blond highlights or any advice sites?? Many thanks.

Don't do it. You'll look not only more gingery but terrible poncy - girls like rugged men, you know, ones that won't hog the bathroom and won't spend more than us trying to look pretty. Please just leave your hair alone!

A low light is a colour that is darker than your own colour ( dark red , brown and black) wouldnt look very nice , id go for the blonde but go to a salon to get it done as mistakes can happen red hair and the wrong shade of blonde will make your hair look pink ,

Please don't do it, I think the actor Damian Lewis is yummy and he's a complete ginger!! My son is 12 and he has the same hair colour as you, he's very lucky as he gets a golden brown tan in summer and only has a few freckles, but, he's been asking for blonde streaks, it would be such a shame as it really is the most beautiful hair colour. Ooh, and don't even think about it if your eyebrows arn't dark, you'll look a right nana !!

i think when people have red hair blonde high lites look really good the two colours go well together and i allways do my boyfriends high lites think it looks sexy on men.

Boris Becker!!! Ha ha - no only joking.... Not really a good look to have all over blonde. You should go to a salon and ask for their advice. You'd prob need your hair bleached as red is the hardest colour to lift. They usually use a little wand type of thing to do highlights in shorter hair (especially guys so you don't have to sit there with a hilihgting cap/foils on).

I can't really think of any male celebs with red/blonde hilights combo - sorry...

don't do it' trust me. I've been a hairstylist for 16years and I would rather give my honest opinion . personally I think bleached highlights on red heads isn't a good look, even on women. my best friend is a red head and over the years she's tried all sorts of colours but now she's back to being a gorgeous red head.

Ooh sweetheart don't - i LOVE deep red/auburn hair! So do many others believe me. So sexy! I think it looks best at a medium length - not long but not skinhead either - just like Seth Green (Scott Evil from Austin Powers) or if you're British, Dan Wright the comedian who hosted Big brothers big mouth for a bit with Steven Marsh. If you realy want to change it, have an experiment with a temporary dye or visit a hairdressers where they'll guide u in what 2 do. If u don't like it then it'll grow out really quick (easy 4 u with short male hair - not so much for us - grr!). good luck xx
